We are a group of quilters who love the art of quilting and getting to know other quilters in our community who share our enthusiasm. We welcome anyone who would like to join our guild and learn a new quilting skill and/or share some of your knowledge with us. We are looking forward to meeting new quilting friend

About our Guild:

Since its inception in 1992, the Rhododendron Quilt Guild a 501(c)(3) non profit organization, we have increased in membership and it is still growing. Yearly we make quilts for  local charities in our community. Baby quilts for the Pregnancy Center, clothing protectors for Assisted Living facilities and quilts for the Veterans Association are among the many projects that we apply our love of quilting toward. Regular meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Fridays and normally run 2 hours. 

There are Satellite groups that also meet once or twice a month; new groups are formed as the need arises.

What you can look forward to: 

The first meeting  on the 2nd Friday of each month is a General meeting with the following activities:   Business Meeting, Announcements, Block of the Month, 50/50 Drawing, Refreshments and of course, Sew and Tell:  where members can share their finished projects with an appreciative audience. 

The second meeting is held on the fourth Friday of each month.  It emphasizes social and education activities such as: Sew Days, Trunk Shows and Instruction Classes. This meeting will be cancelled for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Meets from 10 am to 2pm at the same location.

Programs & Education:

The Programs Committee schedules classes and keeps a signup sheet updated at each meeting.

Classes are paid for in advance with refunds usually given if a cancellation is made within two weeks in advance. Deposit is required to hold your place. Limited seating for most classes.  Supply lists are provided when the deposit is paid.

Dues are $30.00 per year, Our calendar year starts in September.  Prorated dues of $15.00 if paid after March 1 for a half year.  A membership card and roster are available on request for each new member. Plus a program calendar and just what you need for a Sew Day! Please also note that  Quilt Stores may give a 10% discount on your purchase. So carry your Guild Membership card!!!

The Guild is committed to bringing together individuals for the purpose of:

  •        Sharing quilting knowledge and appreciation.

  •        Promoting interest in the art of quilting.

  •        Providing an atmosphere of social and educational interchange.

 We don’t just have meetings!  We have an annual picnic in August for members and their guests. Plus there is a yearly exchange potluck with the Reedsport Quilt Guild and our Holiday Potluck & FUN for members and honored guests!

We are members of the Florence Chamber of Commerce.  Adult and Young adults welcome.
